Dynapac and Hexagon Collaborate to Integrate Auto-Steering and Screed Edge Control on Asphalt Pavers

Dynapac, known for its advanced soil and asphalt rollers, light equipment, and pavers, has announced a new partnership with Hexagon to integrate auto-steering and screed edge control features into its SD25 and XD25 Highway Paver series. These cutting-edge machines, set to debut at bauma 2025, will feature the latest in machine control technology, enhancing paving precision and efficiency.

This collaboration seeks to improve the accuracy of asphalt paving by combining Dynapac’s paving equipment with Hexagon’s advanced control systems. The integration of auto-steering and edge control allows the pavers to precisely follow digital design models with millimeter accuracy, removing the need for traditional stringline methods, reducing costs, and boosting productivity.

With the advanced machine control system, operators will experience automated guidance and accurate screed width adjustments based on a digital design. This technology also promotes sustainability by optimizing material usage, reducing waste, and offering more accurate material estimates during the paving process. Additionally, the system improves safety by removing physical hazards like stringlines and pins from the job site.
