Strengthening Client Relationships with Reliable Asphalt Solutions

Autrey and his partner Easley dedicated themselves to creating a solid base rooted in strong values and exceptional customer service, which fueled their rapid growth within their first 18 months in the business.

Customer Service: The Backbone of a Growing Business

For any business to thrive—especially in its early stages—exceptional customer service is essential. Building trust, staying in touch, and treating clients with respect are more than just good practices; they form the very foundation of long-term success.

In industries centered around service, core values and open communication aren’t optional—they’re crucial. That mindset helped one asphalt maintenance team stand out and scale quickly.

From Unexpected Beginnings to Industry Growth

Taylor Autrey, now an operations manager and co-owner, never planned to enter the asphalt maintenance world. Alongside business partner Jake Easley, who oversees sales, the duo launched their company in 2023. Although they brought 25 years of combined entrepreneurial experience, their background in the field was limited.

Still, they hit the ground running. The business now offers a range of services including crack sealing, line striping, patchwork, sealcoating, and general asphalt repairs. The rapid growth of their client base is a direct result of focusing on relationships and laying a solid operational foundation.

The Power of Networking and Values

Autrey’s previous experience in networking-heavy industries proved invaluable. Within 18 months, he built an extensive network that opened doors for new opportunities—including podcast appearances that further elevated the business’s visibility.

Beyond connections, what truly differentiates the company is its unwavering commitment to values and communication. “Every decision must align with our core values,” Autrey said. “Something as simple as communication can make or break a business. Ignoring it puts you in the same category as contractors who miss emails or leave clients guessing.”

Listening, Learning, and Improving

Autrey and Easley made it a priority to ask clients what past contractors got wrong. That feedback became a blueprint for how to improve their own approach. One major adjustment? Separating operations from sales. This structure ensured that client calls were always answered—regardless of the crew’s on-site schedule.

“We developed a strong foundation rooted in our mission and values,” Autrey shared. “It keeps us focused and consistent.”

Quality Tools, Quality Results

Another secret to their success? Investing in reliable, high-quality equipment. “Cutting corners on gear may save money short term, but downtime and callbacks cost much more,” Autrey said. Top-tier tools help deliver top-tier results—and protect the company’s reputation.

That early commitment to doing things right laid the groundwork for sustainable growth. “Having that foundation from day one made everything smoother,” he added.

Looking Ahead: New Goals on the Horizon

With steady progress and a growing reputation, the company is preparing to expand into additional areas of pavement and asphalt maintenance. “This year, we’re aiming for exponential growth,” Autrey said. “In 2026, we plan to start offering paving services.”

That forward momentum is fueled by constant learning. The team has embraced a mindset of growth through knowledge—always refining their services and looking to do more.

More Than Just a Name

Even as a newer player in the field, the team continues to improve daily. For Autrey, knowing the deeper identity of your business—beyond logos and branding—is essential.

No matter how great your work is, poor communication or weak crew management can leave a lasting negative impression. By putting people first, honoring values, and sticking to a strong foundation, this team has built a model worth emulating.
