Next-Level Truck Tech: Mack Trucks Integrates Allison Diagnostic Data

Allison’s diagnostics, data, and 24/7 monitoring service will now be part of Mack GuardDog Connect, making it easier to track and manage truck performance in real time.

Mack Trucks & Allison Transmission Team Up to Improve Uptime Services

Mack Trucks has partnered with Allison Transmission to enhance its Integrated Uptime service, making it easier for contractors to monitor and manage their vehicles.

Starting in Q2 2025, Mack’s GuardDog Connect telematics system will include Allison Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) data and other key parameters in its 24/7 monitoring service. This integration streamlines communication, allowing contractors to receive support through one central contact—Mack—rather than juggling multiple sources.

A More Efficient Approach to Service

GuardDog Connect is a proactive diagnostic tool designed to keep trucks on the road longer by detecting critical fault codes before they cause major issues. Previously, drivers received separate alerts about their Allison transmissions and had to coordinate repairs with an Allison service provider themselves. Now, Mack OneCall agents at the Mack Uptime Center will handle all planned and unplanned service events, from diagnostics to scheduling repairs.

Mack is also working closely with Allison to ensure that when a truck experiences a yellow or red fault code, clear, consistent instructions are provided through a single communication channel instead of multiple, potentially confusing sources.

Expanding Mack’s Telematics Capabilities

This partnership with Allison is part of Mack’s ongoing effort to simplify fleet management for both drivers and dealers. In addition to this integration, Mack recently rolled out AutoSend—an automated software deployment system—and Self-Service Parameter Updates to help fleets stay fully optimized through Mack Over The Air (OTA) updates.

Beginning in early 2024, AutoSend became a standard feature for trucks equipped with Driver Display Activation, Mack’s in-cab digital interface. This allows drivers to receive and install software updates directly from their dashboard in 30 minutes or less. Meanwhile, Self-Service Parameter Updates, launching later this year, will let fleet managers adjust critical settings like speed limits and idle shutdown times through the Mack Connect portal, eliminating the need to contact Mack’s Uptime Center for routine changes.

A Long-Standing Partnership

Mack Trucks President Jonathan Randall emphasized Mack’s commitment to making fleet management as seamless as possible:

“Mack has always been focused on providing solutions that make doing business with us easier. Our ongoing improvements to GuardDog Connect, along with this partnership with Allison, are great examples of our industry-leading uptime services.”

Allison Transmission’s Rohan Barua, VP of North America Sales and Global Channel, echoed this sentiment:

“This integration builds on our decades-long relationship with Mack and strengthens our shared commitment to keeping customers on the road. By delivering real-time transmission insights through Mack’s telematics system, we’re ensuring faster, more efficient service through authorized Allison providers.”

Mack has already tested the program with several contractors, all of whom appreciated the streamlined process. According to Marty Foulks, Mack’s Connected Vehicle Product Manager, customers with a Mack Integrated Uptime subscription and Allison-equipped trucks will automatically receive the new service at no additional cost.

With this seamless vehicle analytics collaboration, Mack and Allison are taking a major step toward smarter, more efficient fleet management.
