“W8 Hydrovac: The Latest Large Vacuum Excavator Truck for Advanced Excavation”

The W8 hydrovac truck has been unveiled to offer contractors a robust and versatile solution for potholing, slot trenching, and cleanup operations in both urban and residential settings.

The new W8 hydrovac truck has been launched to offer contractors a compact yet powerful solution for potholing, slot trenching, and cleanup tasks in urban and residential settings. As the latest model in the Warlock series of truck vacs, following the introduction of the larger W12 in 2023, the W8 is designed to meet the demands of underground construction professionals, municipalities, and utility contractors working in tight spaces.

Equipped with an 8-inch dig tube, 800-gallon water capacity, and an 8-cubic-yard spoils tank (1,600 gallons), the W8 provides 27 inches of mercury (Hg) vacuum power, matching the W12’s suction capability. Its robust performance in a smaller, more agile package makes it perfect for urban and residential environments where space is limited.

“The W8 is engineered for maximum versatility and efficiency, especially for contractors navigating confined urban spaces,” said Chris Thompson, product manager. “Its size and suction power make it ideal for a range of tasks—from daylighting utilities to storm cleanup and urban excavation—ensuring quick, safe completion of projects.”

Designed with ease of use in mind, the W8 features intuitive controls and a streamlined layout, allowing operators to complete tasks with greater speed and precision. Its enhanced maneuverability, tight turning radius, and smaller footprint boost jobsite efficiency, reducing downtime in congested urban areas.

“Its compact design and powerful performance make the W8 a great rental option for contractors across various job sites,” Thompson added. “The reduced size allows it to easily navigate crowded urban environments, ensuring productivity even in densely populated locations.”

Building on the success of the larger W12, which includes features like a PTO-driven engine, dual 600-gallon saddle tanks, and 5,000 cfm of vacuum power, the W8 offers a solution for smaller-scale projects while maintaining the same high standards.

“Since the W12’s release, the demand for high-power solutions in urban job sites has grown,” Thompson noted. “The W8 answers this need by delivering the power of the W12 in a more compact form. It incorporates premium components typical of the Warlock series, improving performance, longevity, and reducing maintenance costs.
